Mustard Touch Foundation · Nairobi, Kenya · Est. 2014

Small Seed.
Great Mission.
Lasting Impact.

Forming leaders. Caring for the vulnerable. Restoring the weary.

A Kenya-registered nonprofit working at the intersection of ministry formation, pastoral care, and community development — anchored in the conviction that the smallest, most faithful acts of investment in people produce fruit far beyond what the seed’s size suggests is possible.

“Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”

Matthew 13:32 · NIV · The governing text of the Mustard Touch Foundation

Who We Are

The Mustard Touch Foundation

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."

The Mustard Touch Foundation is a Kenya-registered nonprofit organisation founded in Nairobi in 2014. We exist to give institutional form to the bishop-maker calling — the Spirit-led ministry of building leaders, forming institutions, and investing in the people that the visible church has not yet seen.

Our name carries a theology. The Mustard Touch is what happens when a leader sees what God placed in a person before that person can see it in themselves — and does something about it. Specific, intentional, Spirit-led. A touch that changes the trajectory of a life.

Three programme streams express this conviction: Spirit-Led Steward Leadership formation for ministry leaders, Care of Orphans for vulnerable children, and The Shepherd’s Rest — a pastoral sabbatical programme for the village and rural pastors who have given everything and have never been given a week back.

“The tree that grows from the smallest seed does not grow because the planter was impressive. It grows because the soil was prepared, the seed was planted, the root was tended, and the One who makes things grow did what only He can do.”
— THE MUSTARD TOUCH · PATRICK KARANJA
Who We Are

Three Programme Streams

Three streams. One conviction. The smallest, most faithful act of investment in a person — in their formation, their education, or their rest — produces fruit that no single generation can fully measure.

Stream One

Spirit-Led Steward Leadership

Forming leaders who build what lasts and release what they have built

“Entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
— 2 Timothy 2:2

Training, formation, publications, and cohort-based leadership development grounded in the 8-discipline MUSTARD framework — for senior ministry leaders, young leaders, nonprofit boards, and denominational programmes across Kenya and East Africa.

Stream Two

Care of
Orphans

Seeing the seed in every child — because the child protected today is the leader received tomorrow

“To look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
— James 1:27

School fees sponsorship, mentorship, and care for children from poor and vulnerable backgrounds — operating through local church partnerships and missionary outreach networks across Kenya, with full transparency to every donor.

Stream Three

The Shepherd’s
Rest

A place of rest and renewal for the pastors who have never been given a week back

“Get up and eat, for the journey is too much for you.”
— 1 Kings 19:7

Training, formation, publications, and cohort-based leadership development grounded in the 8-discipline MUSTARD framework — for senior ministry leaders, young leaders, nonprofit boards, and denominational programmes across Kenya and East Africa.
